Who We Are?
At King Fishers Day Nurseries, we have been providing high-quality childcare in Thornton Heath, Croydon, and Coulsdon for over 20 years.
Our nurseries are Ofsted-registered and fully insured under Markel Policy No: TNU000982, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
We believe every child is unique, and our approach supports their emotional, social, and intellectual growth.
Our Mission
Our Mission Statement (Including British Values)
At Kingfishers Day Nursery we strive to create an atmosphere that is happy, caring and challenging. We want every child to feel they belong here and to feel secure. We believe in the importance of developing the whole child through offering a broad, balanced and creative curriculum where both independence and team-work are valued. We will help our children to begin to develop learning skills that will last a lifetime, so that they can make their best contribution to the community and society.
Our aims are:
° To create a happy and caring environment
° To nurture a sense of belonging to the Nursery family
° To provide a broad, balanced and enriching curriculum
° To make learning a positive and enriching experience
° To encourage all children to reach their fullest potential and enjoy learning
° To develop independence
° To respect themselves and others
° To foster positive relationships with parents and the community
° To encourage healthy, happy lifestyles within a safe environment.
Partnering with Parents
We believe in working closely with parents to provide consistent, high-quality care. We encourage parents to actively participate in their child’s learning journey, ensuring a positive and collaborative relationship.
The nursery recognizes that parents are the child’s first carers and educators and therefore their views and knowledge of their children are paramount in ensuring that we are able to provide the best possible care.
Community and Cultural Diversity
King Fishers Day Nurseries is more than just a childcare provider—we are a community. We celebrate cultural diversity, teaching children about different traditions through activities and events that foster respect and understanding.
We will ensure that our nursery is fully inclusive in meeting the needs of all children, including those that arise from their ethnic heritage, social and economic background, gender, ability, or disability. Our setting is committed to anti-discriminatory practice to promote equality of opportunity and valuing diversity for all children and families. We aim to:
- provide a secure and accessible environment in which all our children can flourish and in which all contributions are considered and valued.
- include and value the contribution of all families to our understanding of equality and diversity.
- provide positive non-stereotyping information about gender roles, diverse ethnic and cultural groups, and disabled people.
- improve our knowledge and understanding of issues of anti-discriminatory practice, promoting equality and valuing diversity; and
- make inclusion a thread that runs through all the activities of the setting.
